$509K Federal Safe-Sex Study Will Text ‘Gay-Lingo’ to Meth Addicts | CNS News#sthash.CJ7IVYxM.dpuf

CNSNews.com) – A $509,840 grant by the National Institutes of Health will pay for a study that will send text messages in “gay lingo” to methamphetamine addicts to try to persuade them to use fewer drugs and more condoms. The study began in February.

Lead researcher Dr. Cathy Reback of the Baltimore-based Friends Research Institute, Inc., told CNSNews.com how she and her team of health educators will spend the next four years and over half a million dollars encouraging gay meth addicts to cut down on unprotected sex by periodically sending them “gay-specific” text messages.

“We did a pilot about four, five years ago with 52 out-of-treatment MSM (males who have sex with males),” Dr. Reback explained. “And we sent them text messages that were gay specific – used gay lingo – and made references to the connection

Boehner: Obamacare is law of the land | Reuters

(Reuters) – Top Republican lawmaker John Boehner said on Thursday he would not make it his mission to repeal the Obama administration’s healthcare reform law following the re-election of President Barack Obama.

House Speaker John Boehner

“The election changes that,” Boehner, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, told ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer when asked if repealing the law was “still your mission.””It’s pretty clear that the president was re-elected,” Boehner added. “Obamacare is the law of the land.”

It was classic Kinnock

Yes!  It was classic Neil Kinnock, the left wing British Labor Party leader, who reluctantly lost to Margaret Thatcher back in 1983.

Don’t get sick.  Don’t get old.   Sound familiar?   That line was echoed on the podium in the U. S. House of Representatives Sept. 29.   The Democrats are struggling to pass the universal health care bill.   The speech was delivered by Rep. Alan Grayson of the 8th District of Florida.

Kinnock was struggling to beat Thatcher when on June 7, 1983, he pinned the famous liberal speech.  Here is the full text of the speech:

If Margaret Thatcher is re-elected as prime minister on Thursday, I warn you.

I warn you that you will have pain–when healing and relief depend upon payment.

I warn you that you will have ignorance–when talents are untended and wits are wasted, when learning is a privilege and not a right.

I warn you that you will have poverty–when pensions slip and benefits are whittled away by a government that won’t pay in an economy that can’t pay.

I warn you that you will be cold–when fuel charges are used as a tax system that the rich don’t notice and the poor can’t afford.

I warn you that you must not expect work–when many cannot spend, more will not be able to earn. When they don’t earn, they don’t spend. When they don’t spend, work dies.

I warn you not to go into the streets alone after dark or into the streets in large crowds of protest in the light.

I warn you that you will be quiet–when the curfew of fear and the gibbet of unemployment make you obedient.

I warn you that you will have defence of a sort–with a risk and at a price that passes all understanding.

I warn you that you will be home-bound–when fares and transport bills kill leisure and lock you up.

I warn you that you will borrow less–when credit, loans, mortgages and easy payments are refused to people on your melting income.

If Margaret Thatcher wins on Thursday–

– I warn you not to be ordinary

– I warn you not to be young

– I warn you not to fall ill

– I warn you not to get old.

The InkDemon warned in an earlier blog that this would happen.  LINK

Now watch the Democratic party’s version of Classic Kinnock:

This speech shows that the Democrats have nothing new to offer the American people other than tax, spend, and pork.

This speech will be replicated in every house district in every state.  It didn’t work for Kinnock.  It won’t work for the Democrats.

Joe Biden knows Kinnock speeches well.  He plagiarized Kinnock in a series of speeches back in 1987.  LINK

Kinnock, according to the London Telegraph, said:

“Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because our predecessors were thick? Does anybody really think that they didn’t get what we had because they didn’t have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment? Of course not. It was because there was no platform upon which they could stand”

JOE BIDEN IN Sept 1987 during his first presidential campaign:

“Why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go a university? Why is it that my wife… is the first in her family to ever go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright? …Is it because they didn’t work hard? My ancestors who worked in the coal mines of northeast Pennsylvania and would come after 12 hours and play football for four hours? It’s because they didn’t have a platform on which to stand.”

The Democrats will stop at nothing to win.   However, like Neil Kinnock,  time is running out.

Obama’s Song Book

Long ago you were productive
And you held a steady job
Now you’ve gotten old and feeble
And you’re looking like a slob
Once you paid us lots of taxes
And were very cheap to treat
Now the bills are piling up
And there’s a budget we must meet

Ain’t gonna treat your heart no longer
Ain’t gonna treat your back no more
Costs too much to buy you braces
Costs too much for Lipitor
Costs too much for your depression
And we’re tired of your complaints
Ain’t gonna treat your heart no longer
Better get ready to meet the saints
Now your joints are getting creaky
And your liver’s getting old
Your carotids are stenosing
And your thyroid needs controlled
It’s too bad that you have cancer
And you suffer chronic pain
But we can’t afford to treat you
So you’re circling the drain

While the citizens were sleeping
Congress came and took control
Now your healthcare’s being run by
Bureaucrats without a soul
We won’t pay for your dialysis
Won’t pay to fix your eyes
But because we’re kind and caring
We will pay to euthanize

Democrats Create 53 New Gov Programs, Offices, Bureaucracies

Democrats continue to claim that their health care legislation will not increase the federal deficit, even though the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has revealed the truth: the bill actually increases the deficit by $239 billion.  One of the reasons it’s so expensive is the plethora of new federal government programs it would create.  House Republican Leader John Boehner offered the following comment:

“The American people’s number one concern about health care is controlling cost, so it is baffling that Democrats have put together a $1.5 trillion bill that actually increases the deficit in order to create 53 new government programs.  We need to throw away this 1,000-page monstrosity and start over, this time focusing on real, bipartisan reforms that lower costs and expand coverage.”

The House Democrats’ bill creates a massive new federal bureaucracy littered with new federal agencies, new programs, and new bureaucrats.  Here they are, as identified by the House Republican Conference, chaired by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN):

A Glance at British, Canadian Healthcare

No one knows the future if Obama-care is forced on Americans, but we can look at countries where socialized medicine is used today.

These health care systems are in chaos or are being increasingly draconian to cut costs!  For example:

  • Terminally ill elderly are being forced to die prematurely in the United Kingdom. LINK

  • Thirsty patients drink water from flower vases in the United Kingdom.  LINK

  • U.K. mums give birth in toilets, corridors, elevators, and offices because there are no rooms.  LINK

  • System-wide, the U.K. National Healthcare System (NHS) is short of qualified midwives.  There are almost no OB-GYN births in the U.K.  British mums get midwives, many from third-world countries.

  • Some 1,000 deaths one year alone in NHS were caused by the superbug MRSA.  LINK

  • Ants, cockroaches, rats cause infections in U.K. NHS hospitals and clinics.  LINK

  • Filthy U.K. hospitals threatened with closure. LINK

  • Patients become angry and frustrated overappallingly filthy hospitals.  One lady patient was so appalled that she cleaned up her own ward while plugged into an IV. LINK

  • Disillusioned nurses are sometimes cruel to patients.  LINK

  • U.K. hospitals still have wards and open bays.  Space problems causes men and women to be put in the same wards!  This has been reported in the British press.  LINK

  • Patient care is deplorable in some cases. LINK LINK

  • The Canadian HC system is about to implode.  This was reported on the Fox News Channel.  Canadians are crossing over the U.S. border to get HC. LINK LINK LINK

The list goes on.

KennedyCare: funds for ACORN, Trial Lawyers

Federal Funding for ACORN in KennedyCare Legislation

Last week, we told you how Obama’s tanking approval ratings were hanging like an anvil tied around the ObamaCare legislation, dooming it to a near-certain failure. So, the liberals were quick to adapt, and called it KennedyCare with the hopes of capitalizing on all of the good will and around-the-clock media coverage that engulfed the airwaves for the past few days.

So, why are congressional liberals so hell-bent on passing a wildly unpopular, government-run health care program? Because to them, it’s not even about health care anymore!

House Minority Leader John Boehner has uncovered explosive new revelations. You won’t believe what’s contained within the bill – it’s LOADED with special interest projects!

So, the liberals are desperate to pass their bill so as to bring home more power to the unions, trial lawyers and THIS:

Page 95; Section 205 – The bill directs the “Health Choices Commissioner” to conduct outreach activities, including through the use of outside organizations such as ACORN and others, to reach out and enroll exchange-eligible individuals and employers.

ACORN?! Unreal. Had enough?

How about this little nugget?

Page 53; Section 154 – The bill ensures that the new federal health care program will set a floor (but not a ceiling) for health care negotiations for unionized employers.  The legislation cannot be construed to excuse them from good-faith bargaining over health care benefits.  Furthermore, it will not permit unionized employers to unilaterally drop health coverage of its employees in favor of shunting them into the government-run plan or simply paying the penalty associated with not offering health care benefits to workers.

Can you believe it?!

With this bill, the liberals are intent on giving everyone power EXCEPT the taxpayers!

While you and I work each day, diligently paying the taxes that will foot this bill, the liberals in Congress have turned this bill into a playground for labor unions!

There’s more – this time it’s a nice kickback for trial lawyers:

Pages 533-551; Section 1412 – The bill requires the Comptroller General of the U.S. to conduct a study examining: “(A) the extent to which corporations that own or operate large numbers of nursing facilities … are undercapitalizing such facilities; (B) the effects of such undercapitalization on quality of care, including staffing and food costs, at such facilities; (C) options to address such undercapitalization, such as requirements relating to surety bonds, liability insurance, or minimum capitalization.”  This provision primarily benefits trial lawyers who sue nursing homes.

Have you had enough yet?

This is what the liberals envision as KennedyCare. That’s some legacy to leave him, huh?

No matter how you feel about Sen. Kennedy, naming a pork-laden, special interest bill in his name is just plain wrong.

Yet, congressional liberals will stop at nothing until they can pay back their valued constituencies, no matter what the price – paid by YOU, the taxpayer.

Enough is enough. It’s time to put an end to Obama/Kennedy/GovernmentCare for GOOD.

Unchecked Power to “Health Care Czar”

September 1, 2009 | House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) | Permalink

One of the most potentially frightening – and little understood – concerns about House Democrats’ government takeover of health care is the unprecedented power given to a new federal bureaucrat, the “Health Choices Commissioner.”  As the name implies, rather than giving more choices to the American people, the Democrats’ bill lets a government employee make choices that should be made by families and doctors.  House Republican Leader John Boehner made the following comment:

“The American people want two things from health care reform:  lower costs and more choices.  Yet Democrats have done exactly the opposite, coming up with a bill that actually raises costs – increasing the deficit by $240 billion – and letting a new federal bureaucrat make health care decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors.  President Obama should make it clear he doesn’t support this ill-conceived legislation, and work with Republicans to craft a bipartisan bill that accomplishes the American peoples’ goals.”

The House Democrats’ bill gives unchecked power to a new “Health Choices Com-missioner” who will be so powerful that his or her title is referenced 182 times in the House Democrats bill.  This bureaucrat would have the power to:

  • Pages 84-87; Section 203 – Decide which treatments patients could receive and at what cost.
  • Page 42; Section 142(a)(1) – Decide which private plans would be allowed to participate in the Exchange.
  • Page 40; Section 134 – Regulate all insurance plans, both in and out of the Exchange.
  • Page 80; Section 202(e) – Determine which employers would be allowed to participate in the Exchange.
  • Page 82; Section 202(f) – Determine how many and which Americans will be allowed to choose health coverage through the Exchange.
  • Page 90; Section 204(b) – Decide which physicians and hospitals participate in the government-run plan and in private plan provider networks.
  • Page 111-115; Section 208 – Deter-mine which states are allowed to operate their own Exchange and to terminate a previously-approved State Exchange at any time.
  • Page 87; Section 203(d) – Override state laws regarding covered health benefits.
  • Page 42; Section 142(a)(2) – Deter-mine how trillions of taxpayer and employer dollars would be spent within the Exchange.
  • Page 42; Section 142(a)(3) – Deter-mine who qualifies for premium assistance.
  • Page 97-99; Section 205 – Auto-matically enroll Americans into the Exchange if they don’t have coverage, including potentially forcing these individuals into the government-run plan.

Democrats should stop ignoring the will of the American people.  They need to scrap this government takeover and work on common sense reforms to lower health care costs and increase access.  Let’s hope after a long, hot summer back in their Congressional Districts, Democrats will be willing to do just that.

Fox Web Site Blows Away Competition

The Fox News Channel’s web site is blowing away all competitors.

I ran a comparison using the tools in Complete.com.

Fox News Channel has been leading all other media outlets in providing fair and balanced information about the Tea Party Movement, town hall rancor by angry voters, and the lies of the Obama-care spin machine.

Fox News’ web site reached almost 11 million unique visitors per month in June and July.  These are the latest statistics for the web sites.  August statistics are not available.

NBC.com (green line on the chart) took a big dip in June and continued to plummet in July.   Meanwhile, CBS continues to lag.   MSNBC.com is a distant fourth.

The New York Times web site hardly made the scale.   All of the media giants except for Fox News is having trouble staying ahead of Drudgereport.com (not on this scale) which is an independent website with no associated TV channel.
